CARE & MAINTENANCE FOR YOUR CONCRETE SURFACE
Understanding Your New Concrete Purchase
You are caring for a piece of functional art, handcrafted by artisans with years of experience. Concrete Designs creates each piece with Kodiak Pro Makers Mix, the healthiest, highest-performing concrete. It is free from hazardous crystalline silica, incredibly durable, and sealed with Kodiak Pro’s ICT Protect and Fusion, a proprietary, non-toxic, next-gen sealing system. With the right care, your artisan concrete product will perform beautifully for decades. Here is how to keep it looking its best:
First 4-6 Weeks: Let It Breathe
Your surface is sealed and ready for daily use, but it is still going through its natural post-curing process.
- Do not leave items, such as towels, containers, soap dishes, etc. on the surface for prolonged periods.
- Wipe up liquids immediately. Don't allow water, oil, or wine to linger.
- Always use a cutting board. Concrete is durable, but it is not designed to be cut on.

Daily Do's and Don'ts
Do:
- Use coasters, felt pads, or rubber bumpers under:
- Anything that lives on the counter
- such as soap dispensers or
- planters
- Unglazed ceramics
- Items with sharp edges
- Always use a trivet or pad under hot pots and pans. Direct high-heat can damage the finish.
DON’T:
- Don’t cut on the surface
- Don’t leave wet items sitting on the surface, especially during the 1st couple of months.
- Don’t assume it is indestructible, nothing is.
Everyday Cleaning
- We suggest Simple Green, Clorox Wipes, Windex, or similar cleaners.
- Avoid abrasive scrubbers or harsh chemicals- your sealer works hard, treat it with some care.
Sealer Maintenance
Indoors
- Reapply sealer every 5-10 years-no stripping needed, just a fresh coat to renew protection.
Outdoors
- Outdoor elements can be tough. You can reapply every 2-3 years.
Pro Tip
We recommend applying Cerakote Platinum Ceramic Paint Sealant every 30-60 days to help maximize the sealer's lifespan.
